So....those of you that think DJT is guilty of collusion with the Ruskies, I offer this rebuttal.  Having followed all of this daily for the past several years, I completely agree with Dan Bongino's break-down of what actually happened and continues to happen.  The video below goes into great deal how incestuous all of this is, Fusion GPS, wives, former Chief of Staff's; it's one big setup!

"These people are sick!"

Okay, I'll bite. I had the day off today (have some vacation days to use or lose), and I watched. He is a very good speaker.  I can see why people like him and why, apparently, Trump loves him. I have a few thoughts.

One, he is clearly a hyperpartisan and a Trump guy with ambitions.  Apparently he likes to say, "My life is all about owing the libs now."  So, there is that.  He also has a book(s) to sell, and may even have ambitions that go beyond that.  It seems Trump loves him, and he actually has some sort of relationship with Trump and wants to be in Trump's orbit.

Two, he only cited two sources during his speech.  One was an article by Glenn Simpson in the WSJ from 2007, which he suggested was literally cut-and-pasted to make up the Steele memo.  I have read the memo, and I read the article, and don't see it.  A lot of the stuff in the article is also born out in the memo in a general fashion regarding Russian corruption, but not actual specific stuff in the memo as he suggested.  For example, I thought there was going to be something in that article in the nature of the pee tape, but there wasn't even anything about kompromat in general.  As aside, I thought the stuff about Bob Dole was interesting, and I didn't know that Manafort had worked for Dole.

The second source was a report of the FISA court regarding prohibited queries being made to NSA databases, which he suggested was the result of Adm. Mike Rogers (the head of the NSA) discovering that Obama was spying on Trump. Again, I don't see it.  I have skimmed the report (it's 99 pages) and read a bunch of articles about it from a number of sources, and it doesn't say that.  You have to speculate and jump to conclusions in a big way to suggest that it does.

Third, I found it interesting that he agreed with Sebastian Gorka that there is irrefutable evidence that proves the treachery of Obama and Mueller et al, but then said that he expects nothing will come of it.  Sounded a bit like he was hedging his bet, that way he can keep saying that it happened even if nobody goes to jail (despite irrefutable evidence).

So finally, I didn't find him convincing.  A compelling speaker sure, but not convincing.  Not if you dig a little deeper instead of just taking what he says at face value.  Of course, if someone is inclined to buy what he is selling, then I can see why that person would be convinced.  After the holidays, maybe I'll take a look and see if my local public library has his book and give it a read (I'm not going to pay for it).  I'm also curious about his behind the scenes book about when he was a secret service agent under Obama.

For now, my biggest takeaway is that the guy seems to be enjoying his new found celebrity and is making a lot of money.
