high paying jobs NOT going to a place where Trump likes to hold his rally

Somehow the SALT tax thing wasn’t enough of a deterrent

I personally believe if a large company needs larger numbers of special skilled workers, they might have to go with a place where there’s already a pool. Especially when the H1B process is under attack

Was it just a couple of weeks ago that people were crying that Amazon is getting rich by not paying it's workers enough money?

Well, what is it?  A slave factory?  Or a high paying job super star?

Can't have it both ways people.

PS - AOC is an idiot.

H1B process isnt under much of an attack.  Its criticized for being used as a vehicle for lower wage workers ..both skilled and unskilled ...and its dominated by a small minority of tech and service companies...some not even US corporations.  I dont recall Amazon being one of them.

There is a legitimate conversation needed about the H1B process but it will never be meaningful if the conversation is with half wit progressives that see racism as the underlying motivation for any notion they are programmed to disagree with or anything that they are just too stupid to grasp.

When you have tech jobs to fill to meet some strategic deadline you end up using the H1B because you can’t  find the talent locally.

If the H1b pipe closes you are F*****

There is always almost local talent but the price keeps going up.

It's not just a talent problem.  H1Bs are cheap.  Part of their comp is the promise of a green card.

The H1B is half the price of the local talent, but the firm could always outsource for another half off.

That being said .. I dont think the h1b pipe is closing .. nor should it....but we should look at making the system work better.   It's a typical gov bureaucracy that needs skilled lawyers to help navigate because it's a mess. Its abused.

So Amazon didn’t want to overpay for tech talent so they chose NY?
