LC Reel Differences -- Conflict II LC and Spinfisher VI LC

5 posts in this topic

Whoever wants to answer this:

Two of the new Penn spinning models, the SSVI and the Conflict II, have LC models. Other than the obvious differences in size -- SSVI 6500LC, Conflict II LC 5000, etc. -- what are the differences, and similarities, between the two reels?

What is the target market for each? What are the construction differences between each? And what, if anything, would you like to add about the traits of each reel, both when compared to the other and in general?

Thank you in advance for your time answering. :howdy:

Belmo - In general the SSVI LC is built for those who need a heavier duty LC reel, getting it wet, higher drags etc. The CFTIILC is built to be a lightweight LC reel that you can cast plugs with all day and not get tired.

SSVI LC

Metal Body

IPX5 Sealed

Higher Drags (HT-100)

CNC Gears

CFTIILC

RR30 Body and Rotor

CNC Gears

HT100 drag (not as high as SSVI)

Not sealed, still has sealed bearings however

Yes, they match eachother in price, but they are built for different purposes.

Should have put the reel weights / specs in there.

thanks...

SS VI LC reels:

5500 LC: 20.7 oz.

6500 LC: 24.4 oz.

7500 LC: 27.9 oz.

Conflict II LC reels:

6000 LC: 18.5 oz.

7000 LC: 21.7 oz.

8000 LC: 23.2 oz.

This is a pretty big weight difference, especially in the larger models.
