I was fishing the harbor and when I was leaving a guy introduced himself and told me he had gotten some great pics of me and was going to post them on a Facebook board. The pics are incredible

Oh man, it's been an eventful year. Hard to pick just one.

Got my boss' son on his first ever striper. Cruising around a rip and a massive surface feed erupts. He throws his plug and and it was game over. Only fish we caught that day.

A big girl released off of the Outer Cape. Biggest one of the day. All topwater. No big ones for me on the fly.

Heading out for the night bite.

My brother (green shirt) and I had not gone fishing together for ~50 years.  We joined a friend of his on the Soquee River in Northern Georgia.  His first was the rainbow.  My favorite was/is a Brown.

Even better than the fishing; we had a damn good time with our host & his friend (our guide) as we cooked some local meats and washed ‘em down with some well-aged grape juice & peach brandy (moonshine).

Gordo with a some gleaming steel on a disgusting, raw, icy day in April, one of four he landed. Below, Cameron getting it done in similar weather seven months later. I'm so proud of how well these two young men handle themselves in difficult conditions with a challenging species to land.

Here’s my choice for 2018

It’s  part of a sequence

‘Family fun - note: no iphones

Then ‘mom’ discovers there’s actually fish, and catching them is quite fun, and now won’t give the rod back.

Cow Nosed Ray.  They will eat a fly.

Had a few run ins with them this spring, great fight but I try to avoid them as they go by in some very big schools every year.
