EXTREME!!! commuting

86 posts in this topic

I have a nice 40 minute commute every day. I wound up working with 2 people today whose commutes are crazy. First lives in willimgton de, other lives in Baltimore, md. And commutes to midtown Manhattan every day. Yes Baltimore to midtown EVERY DAY. Anyone here do something like that and how the hell do you deal with it.

NJ sure to union square. 2 hrs each way. Home office one day a week. I'm home every night, weekend, and holiday except maybe once a year.  Spent up to 180 nights a year in a hotel before that and lots of 3 day weekends working on the road. This is child's play.

What those people do sounds awful. At least where I live is cool. ****ing Maryland?....

I went from a four-hour commute each way to a 45 minute commute each way.  I'm working on getting a 10 minute commute.

And I take public transportation and haven't owned a car in 23 years.

It was 8 hours.  They changed my workplace on me.  For an 8-hour-shift, it took me 3 1/2 to 4 hours each way due to an sweetheart manager not adjusting my schedule.  That manager was fired and I moved to a site closer to home.

It was hellish.

Anything to get your ass out of Philly would be worth it

This was so I could STAY in Philly.  Or live in crappy Delaware.

She said 2:35 by train. Sounds doable, but miserable.

I commute 1.6 miles to and from work every single day. Please don't feel sorry for me, at least during the fall and winter. Both traffic lights I hit are now blinkers. Spring and summer are a different story. Traffic lights are on and I expect you to feel my pain. :howdy:

The best commute was when I was in the Air Force.  A half-mile walk to the Rapcon or the Tower.

At Tempelhof, It was two whole flights of stairs.
