DEMS HAVING MID-TERM NIGHTMARES, LITERALLY

Can this be serious? Nightmares over an election that hasn’t happened yet? On in which their side is supposed to win in a wave? Cana quarter of college students really be suffering from PTSD due to the 2016 elections? How fragile are these people?

As has been asked much lately, what will happen to these people if the Red Undertow wrecks their plans?

Democrats traumatized by 2016 are having pre-midterms nightmares

Despite forecasts of a Democratic House takeover, liberals grappling with 'PTSD' are braced for another surprise election disaster.

BEN SCHRECKINGER11/04/2018 06:50 AM EST

On the eve of the midterms, President Donald Trump’s approval is falling, young voters are energized, and Republicans look poised to lose their House majority.

It’s enough to make Democrats nervous, miserable wrecks.

Haunted by memories of 2016, liberals around the country are riven with anxiety in the campaign’s homestretch. They’re suspicious of favorable polls and making election night contingency plans in case their worst fears come true. Some report literal nightmares about a Democratic wipeout.

“We're kind of just in the bed-wetting phase now," said Democratic pollster John Anzalone, a Hillary Clinton campaign alumnus who spent election night 2016 in Clinton’s Manhattan war room.

Two years later, even thinking about the prospect of a repeat of that night’s letdown is still too much for many Democrats to bear.

“Stop it!” shouted Nadeam Elshami, a former chief of staff to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, when asked about that possibility. To be fair, the possibility has literally haunted his dreams.

Elshami, who is now a Washington lobbyist, said that after staying up late reading campaign coverage and polls one recent night, he dreamed about watching tense House election results. His dream concluded with a Democratic House, but he doesn’t consider that a prophecy, and he said the pre-election knot in his stomach is tighter this year than ever before.

Anzalone said the shock of Donald Trump’s upset victory, which was missed by most forecasts, still hangs over many in the party. “There’s some PTSD,” he said.

That is not an exaggeration. A study published last month in the Journal of American College Health found that one-quarter of college students experienced “clinically significant” symptoms of trauma from the 2016 election results.

Nature used to weed these folks from the gene pool, now they reproduce.

This is so true. I view them as literally mutants. We're watching evolution in real time. Before the welfare state and modern medicine, most of these mutants would have died by childhood disease or have been shunned out of the gene pool.

Science has discovered "the liberal gene" and, I believe, other physical abnormalities go with it besides mental illness. You know a liberal at a glance, usually, based on their appearance. We have evolved to pick up on minute physiognomy differences as a threat assessment mechanism. These mutants physically look different, often have health issues and are observably mentally ill. Everyone knows the trope about conservatives are better looking than liberals. It's actually normal people are better looking than mutant liberals.

Whereas in the past, where they were contained by nature, now they are sustained and incentivized to reproduce by the welfare state by rewarding bad liberal behavior and punishing normal behavior. That's why there seems to be so many of them.

Here it is, in the form of a poll's findings.

The political climate is making Democrats 'eat their feelings.' Here's how to manage the stress.

Politics got you down? According to a new poll, Democrats are 50 percent more likely than Republicans to say they’re “eating their feelings.” They're drinking more, too.

Nov. 1, 2018 / 1:37 PM EDT

The midterm elections are turning out to be nearly as stressful as the 2016 presidential election — especially for Democrats.

According to a poll conducted by YouGov and commissioned by the fitness site Daily Burn, Democrats are 50 percent more likely than Republicans to say they’re “eating their feelings” as a result of the current political climate. They’re also drinking more (a 2-to-1 ratio over their GOP counterparts).

The ostensibly good news is that these stressed out Democrats are also working out more, by as much as 40 percent; but even exercise can be overdone.

“I’m seeing some people so stressed at the moment they're doing two, even three soul cycle classes at day,” Dr. Navya Mysore, a primary care doctor, tells NBC News BETTER. “Exercise is good for you, but too much is not. You [risk] dehydration and your body needs time to rest and rejuvenate.”

Binging on de-stressors backfires

What appears to be happening among many concerned voters, is that they’re resorting excessively to the habits that help us de-stress, whether that’s eating, drinking or exercising.

“Depending on how you’re used to dealing with stress, people tend to gravitate toward that habit more,” says Dr. Mysore. “If you had a hard day, you’ll have a glass of wine, so maybe you’re doing that more. Same for people who are stress eaters — they’ll eat more. If you're more prone to sweat it out when stressed, then you'll do that more.”

Binging almost always leaves us feeling crummy, even if what we’re binging on is as benign as Netflix (which Daily Burn’s poll found both Democrats and Republicans are doing plenty of in reaction to the fraught political climate).

Oh oh, and then there’s the Hollywood warning "We are all gonna die if Trump isn’t repudiated".

H’Wood’s Closing Argument: We’re All Gonna Die!

By Christian Toto

Hollywood's best and brightest warn we're headed for Nazism 2.0 under Trump, or worse, if we don't vote for Democrats.

Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars spent the weekend begging us to give the House back to the Democrats.

How?

We’re all gonna die if the GOP retains control of Congress, they cried. Or, even worse, Nazism will rise again, turning the Land of the Free into the Home of the Concentration Camp.

Sound like hyperbole? It’s the precise message being sent by some celebrity elite.

You might expect that unhinged rhetoric from Infowars or the farthest left bastions on the web. No, these battle cries came from the biggest names in Hollywood.

Oscar winners. Tony winners. Emmy winners.
