I am in East Coast in Korea to test new prototype 10'6" Black Hole surf rod for yellowtail in famous Wangdolcho tomorrow.
I choose the lightest 10'6" rated 3/4 -  4 oz rod.
I hope I land big yellowtail on this light rod.
IRT 500 DD reel will be used.

We might have bluefin there too. bluefin invaded there for the first time this year. Lots of small bluefin in 40 lb - 60 lb range were caught using poppers, jigs and bait this year.

What a sight !

Acres of acre of forming yellowtail in Wangdolcho on the East Coast in Korea.

I've never seen such a spectacular sight.

I am pleased to see new 10' Black Hole USA Surf rod rated 3/4 oz - 4 oz and IRT 500 DD performed beautifully.

Videos will follow.

The rod I tested is only 10.2 oz weight and has the thinnest diameter of the blank on the market.

It looks it hold up well. Testing the rods will continue.

I used 500 DD high gear (4.7: 1) reel, but I found it is not enough.

Guys using 5.7:1 gear ratio Stella reel have more hit than I did.

I already asked IRT to develop 5.7:1 or higher gear ratio reel for rooster and yellowtail popping.
