spoonplugger1
I don't know how to answer that as kayaks are used all over, for many species. I have things I build into my rods to make life easier. Grips that are so long that I can't comfortably get them out of rod holders wherever they are won't be on my kayak. A grip that won't slide in and out of the rod holder slick and unobstructed won't be on the boat, seen to many nice setups and people go for a swim due to fighting and fumbling due to some other hangup, or over extension. Nothing goes with me that can't be tethered. I can only carry so much, and it takes time, money and effort to get there, I enjoy fishing, I expect my gear to come back with me, and to help me catch fish time and again. Balance and all the other buzz words, don't get my attention. It's been used and contended with before, trust me.

PatFin401
I have a st. Croix Premier 7' med/fast with a 2500 shimano and I love it. I primarily use it for soft plastics and small jigs.
PatFin401
I use 10lb fireline. I used to use 10lb floro leader but now I just tie directly to the fireline.
