JoeGBreezy,

I like the way you think.  It's not over yet! Yes it is less and less every year, and something needs to be done soon or else we will tell our grandkids we were able to catch fish from the shore "years ago".  I hope I never see that day or have to utter those words.

I track temps unscientifically. Two weeks ago we were on seasonal average. Right now about 1-2 degrees lower. Don't buy into the nonsense, just get a line in when you can and karma along with persistence will get you there.

Yup - you're either a fisherman or you're not & fishermen fish.

I fished first light. there were some fish in the deep. pretty much 1 stretch had birds over it. just me and the ‘rants in the surf. may have had a shot for a minute if the jetty tips had been accessible.

No such thing as field nine.

There was.

9 was east of 6 and west of Tobay.

It was washed over and abandoned in ‘75, the building demolished a couple years later.

I’ve fished at 6 & 9 for going on 50 years and was never bothered by anyone, queer or not.

Both good areas depending on the bar structure(s) each year.

This thread provides a deep well of knowledge concerning beaches like 6 & 9.

It should be assigned reading to any new or seasoned surf fisherman.

@JoeBreeze - you spit some words of wisdom my friend.. and you keep it brief.. I like!

Truth is, I don't get much time to wet the line, when I get it, I go and often times it doesnt work with the tide but I give it a shot in hope of good karma.

@Chum- solid post\link - I'm not the best at reading the surf, BUT I'm pretty good at spotting the rip current locations

Back then they were still in the closet. :freak:
