That's why they call them "shoulder" bags - they make bright colored versions for people like you ;)

Just kidding.  I use to leave mine on the rocks until one night I saw it was infested with earwigs.

Never again.

Years ago a friend of mine placed his bag on some Block Island rocks.  He spent hours looking for it - didn't find it until dawn.

The bag was the same color as the surrounding rocks.

Happened to me on a Rhode Island trip. Set it on the rocks, followed fish further than was wise. Returned to supposed location  - no bag.

My wallet, car keys and house keys in it.

Major panic ensues. The guys I'm with don't know me well, wondering what's up. My nine year old is reflecting my panic. I take off top speed across the soft sand to accost two stunned and innocent strangers walking away.

Eventually somebody spotted the brown bag on the brown rock - about 50 feet further inland than I thought.

Felt kinda silly.

Fishing the delaware river in broad daylight this summer, my acu bag blended in with the surroundings. The bag was all of 10 yards away from me and it took a few minutes to find.

A good reminder to put your name and cell number on your bag. I stole a small luggage tag from a bag in my attic and tie wrapped it on my bag.

By some lucky chance an honest person finds it they can at least contact you.
