Nissan11
Can anyone help me to identify this rod? There are no markings on it. My dad says he found it washed up on carolina beach in the late 60's but it does not look that old to me. The finish is a bit rough and I would like to take it to the surf and pier this weekend if you guys think it will hold u to some whiting fishing. It is one piece and pretty flimsy for the thickness. Seidner
Definitely from the sixties, maybe even the late fifties, don't know who made it but if you are going to fish, you need to clean up all the corrosion on guides or your line will not hold up. Nissan11
It is 8 ft long. I will clean the guides up with sand paper before casting it tomorrow.
Great Egg
It might be a Garcia fiberglas "Conlon" from the mid 1960s. They're indestructible.
