Great fish, great story.

I’ve been having a blast on the west coast catching 2-10lb tarpon on light tackle in the backcountry. They are an awesome gamefish at any size.

Outstanding Tom, noticed the pic on your av yesterday and was planning to ask you about it.

Quite an accomplishment, congratulations.

Funny you mention the go-pro, my KIDS are telling me where their “old” go-pros are (back of second drawer up from bottom of dresser) and that I should be wearing one. I paid for these devices and they are telling me where to find them. Something is wrong with that, no?

Meanwhile, let’s see if this GIF works at the moment I lost control of the fish.

I was out in the beach this morning, different spot, with Josh Jorgensen, aka BlacktipH. Adult mullet at our feet and tarpon thrashing the school which was 200+ yards long. No hook ups sadly.

But it I did capture a couple of shots of the weed on that beach to give you an idea of how much there is and how tenacious it can be with braid.

Also, shot of scales on Spooltek hook shows how thick the mullet were. I could feel the lure bouncing off the fish in retrieve.
