apagano80
Hey guys what are your theories about fishing a sour or southeast wind out back in MOCO? Edited October 5, 2018 by apagano80
Fly By Nite
I've has some good fishing in all sorts of wind in the back. Everything is dependent on bait. Water movement is the most important thing to consider moreso than wind.

Sudsy
South wind on the bayshore can pile the gnats into a cloud along the edge of the water that will eat you alive I'll buzz over to Staten Island on a strong south wind for a chance at better fish I just wanta play everyday despite small nagging injuries -- and go home to a woman who appreciates how full of crap I truly am. ~ Crash Davis Social Distancing since 1962
Slowwwride
I have caught fish in all kinds of conditions. Smoke 'em if you got 'em, we're going down
apagano80
I’ve never had any luck with a wind that included a south wind. West wind has been my best buddy. Although I still think the water temp is to high.
Tex59
Sudsy, one of my first trips out late this summer I had a first hand experience with the gnats. I promptly left and decided a cold beer and bbq was better than the bugs! Edited October 10, 2018 by Tex59
Sudsy
Brutal aren't they ? In your eyes, crawling into your ears and nose, eating you alive. Eff that, I'll find a different spot Tex59 1 I just wanta play everyday despite small nagging injuries -- and go home to a woman who appreciates how full of crap I truly am. ~ Crash Davis Social Distancing since 1962
fishless
I'll add that I had a steady pick at fish for 5 nights in a row last month on a easterly wind. Once it shifted South it blew hard, water moved out as did the bait and those fish moved on as well. richs
If you can situate yourself so it's blowing in your face (no small task given the geography) it can be good. S wind, fog/ light rain outgoing late in the season (3rd week Nov +) can be good. No more skunks. Maybe you didn't hear about it, you been gone a long time.
