We called it pizza rustica, we're classy like that.  The Neapolitans (filthy animals) called it pizza chiena in their dialect.

pizza gaina is an Americanized pronunciation of that.

Good night :howdy:

Anything can be good if you’re high enough. Take ground beef, make patties the size of a postage stamp and punch a pencil through them in the design of what the 5 side of a dice looks like, steam them and put them on Walmart white bread hotdog rolls cut into quarters.... put 4 pieces of pickle relish pickle with an eyedroppers worth of ketchup on each and you’ll have home made white castle burgers. Really, that experience would trump an actual White Castle experience.

I agree but White Castle does have its place for some reason

White bread with everything bagel seasoning and melted butter rolled into it made on this rainy day by yours truly. Had it with lamb stew.

Yeah cold down to room temp. That’s always been the reason I never went for it. My family is from Naples (filthy animals according to are Mayor) and have been making this on holidays for as long as I can remember

No, but it sounds like something I would really enjoy. I smoke bacon and salvage all the grease for frying everything. We’re the veggies pickled or fresh?

The veggies were fresh right from the garden, that's why it was always a late summer thing.
