Ok, doesn't surprise me at all.

The pieces of the George Soros media empire are as diverse as the nations of the world and just as widespread. From nakedly partisan left-wing media like Think Progress, the blog for the Center for American Progress, and a TV show on MSNBC, to the supposedly impartial National Public Radio, Soros has impact on the flow of information worldwide.

New details have emerged revealing that George Soros helped prop-up Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s political career in an attempt to put 400 Bernie Sanders-like politicians in Congress.

Well, that didn’t take long. As the fake news media has been gushing and fawning over rising star Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, pushing hard the ‘she came out of nowhere!’ narrative, it turns out that she in fact did come from somewhere. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, political candidate, was created inside the walls of  The Media Consortium, one of the crown jewels of the George Soros empire.

“A Manchurian candidate is a person, especially a politician, being used as a puppet by an enemy power. The term is commonly used to indicate disloyalty or corruption, whether intentional or unintentional.”

A quick peek at The Media Consortium’s membership roster reveals all sorts of interesting, Far Left groups like The Young Turks, The Progressive, Worker’s Independence News, Dissent Magazine and dozens of other hardcore Socialist organizations. Many of these groups, who combined receive millions in funding from George Soros, were told from the highest levels of the Soros regime to promote Ocasio-Cortez, and she has publicly acknowledged their role in her success.

So the rags-to-riches story of the working class ‘hero bartender’ who breaks upon the national stage is really the latest Manchurian Candidate from the political puppet master, George Soros. Soros spent many millions to create this illusion of  ‘voice of the people‘ Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who rises from the working class to be a star on the political stage.

FROM THE DAILY CALLER: A former organizer for Bernie Sanders’s presidential campaign, Ocasio-Cortez’s under-dog win in the Democratic primary was undoubtedly helped by online actors. The New York Times writes that she was able to defeat her opponent, who greatly outspent her, due to her online presence. In an interview with progressive digital media outlet “The Young Turks,” a member of a Soros-funded network of far-left publications called The Media Consortium, Ocasio-Cortez also admits that their coverage helped her win. Members linked to Soros-funded digital media asked Ocasio-Cortez, a former organizer for Bernie Sanders’s presidential campaign, to run for office — guaranteeing favorable coverage by a media network that reaches almost 300 million people monthly.

The evil "Team Soros"....

From Skeptic

"I was researching The Young Turks*1 and Wolf PAC*2 (But specifically TYT) and found accusations of them being funded by George Soros on a few websites (such as Soros in Vermont).

I can't really find any direct evidence about them being funded by Soros, and it appears that TYT actually did a video dispelling the notion.
However, the video was in 2012, and the accusations appear to be from 2014, although they were also present in 2012 apparently.
In TYT's video, they claim that Soros funds the media conglomerate that they are a part of, but that they send money to the conglomerate and do not receive any money from them (and added that they'd be glad to take anyone's money if they'll donate to them).

Additionally, when researching the articles talking about TYT being funded by Soros, I noticed that they didn't really provide me any direct evidence (such as financial documents) proving the statements. This seems like "That which can be proven without evidence can be dismissed without evidence", but I'm not sure, especially with the date mismatch between 2012 and 2014.

Did the situation change? Is TYT funded directly or indirectly by George Soros?"

"Soros in Vermont links to The New American as source of the claim. They in turn name Media Research Center as source. Their claim is:

In fact, Soros funds nearly every major left-wing media source in the United States. Forty-five of those are financed through his support of the Media Consortium. That organization 'is a network of the country's leading, progressive, independent media outlets.' The list is predictable - everything from Alternet to the Young Turks.

They do not provide a source for this claim. has a more specific claim:

Mother Jones is the news outlet of The Foundation for National Progress, the left-wing "umbrella organization that exists to publish and support Mother Jones." It also founded the Media Consortium. The FNP received $485,000 in Soros funding in 2008. The Media Consortium, also still under the umbrella of the FNP, has received $675,000 since 2000, adding up to $1,160,000. Those figures come from 990 forms from Soros' Open Society Foundations.

The reference to 990 forms is rather vague, and they do not link to any further sources. The claim is repeated by various right wing websites, but none cite any actual sources.

However, the website of the Open Society Foundations does have a grant over $200,000 going to the Media Consortium.

But I could not find any source that states that the Media Consortium actually gave all or part of that money to The Young Turks. It doesn't seem like the consortium gives money to their members at all, but that instead the members give money to the consortium: "Participating members pay annual dues based on a sliding scale.".

There is no evidence that George Soros is funding The Young Turks.

George Soros is the chairman of an organization which donated money to a consortium of which TYT are a member, but from which they do not gain financial benefits.  I'm not sure how this might be seen as a scandal, and most of the sources seem at least vaguely antisemitic with their claims that a Jew is secretly controlling the media."

So when an article posits that Soros is behind all these dreadful things,   it raises my "skeptic senses"

We all know there is unlimited money and special interests behind politicians, even the "upstarts".    This is a no there there  outrage piece to scare the base.
