at Herring Cove reported in todays front page Cape Cod Times . It is written that tons of small dead fish[juvenile pogies]  were laying all over the place and that the sand y beach were just covered as far as the eyes can see. They indicate that blue fish and or striped bass did the dastardly deed. They words used that it may well be in the tons of dead fish

What happens when the fish get pushed into large groups , they suffocate for the lack of Oxygen. The birds feeding on the schools only were eating those still alive and not the dead one for what ever reason. It could have been from a combination of things seals, fish , whales and the huge schools of porpoises hanging around the beaches and Cape Cod Bay over this past few weeks.
