wading shoes/ surf shoes

I am on my second pare of Cabalas wading shoes. The first pair worked well, the second not so much. I do a lot of walking in sand and then standing in the surf that drives the sand into tight places. Most shoes are designed for wading the flats, which doesn't test them like the surf does.

What warm weather wading shoe works best for you! Thanks!

Crocs or barefoot most of the time. I wore flip flops at a south jersey inlet and nearly broke my legs and elbows slipping on a rock haha. I prefer barefoot most of the time though.

Slip-on water shoes are the way to go once the water warms up. I can't image fishing barefoot with all the "crap" in the water rusty cans, metal, rusty metal,  hooks, glass, sharp rocks. etc. I was fishing next to a jetty and when I came out of the water I noticed a rusty hook in the thick rubber sole of the shoe with a trailing leader.

I have Bass Pro Offshore Angler flats booties and they work well. They’re comfortable enough to walk a few miles in and they keep almost all of the sand out. They’re cheap too.
