I can agree with the upper rating falling short the 1-4 felt sloppy with a heavy super strike needle

Totaly agree. Just pointing out that shouldn’t sway you into buying provided saidrod handles your arsenal. Daiwa makes some super nice sticks!

I own the CLSP1002MHFS - 10', medium-heavy, fast, rated 2-6. Definitely sloppy over 4oz. I would put it at 1-4. Didn't like it at the canal as much as I did using it for the beach and eeling. But overall, a decent rod for the money/

I use the 9', 1-4 oz with an Omoto 5000 size baitcast reel. With those low rider guides it works well with the small round bait caster. Also, I use it for casting stuff under 2 Oz's.

It's good for 7" Mambo's, Redfin's and storm shads
