GREAT AGAIN: US Retail Sales SOAR in July, UP 6.4% from Last Year

posted by Hannity Staff - 20 hours ago

The United States’ economy continued to roar to life under President Trump and the GOP-controlled Congress in July; smashing estimates and posting stunning retail sales figures in the normally quiet summer month.

“U.S. retail sales rose more than expected in July as households boosted purchases of motor vehicles and clothing, suggesting the economy remained strong early in the third quarter,” writes CNBC.

“Economists polled by Reuters had forecast retail sales nudging up 0.1 percent in July. Retail sales in July increased 6.4 percent from a year ago,” adds the report.

The strong economic data throws even more cold-water on the media’s overhyped “blue wave” predicted for this fall, with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi vowing to repeal the “GOP tax scam” should Democrats retake control of Congress.

Maybe.  Those tariffs didn't seem to hurt them.  Maybe the libs lied about that too.

tradtional retail is dead in this country-most brick and mortar stores with the exception of off price is dead- the only ones to flourish are walmart costco ross tjx....then you have the online folks like amazon

the constant to the stores that are posting good numbers low off price goods mostly from China-make those goods more expensive and the only winning retailers will be losing

"Game over."  Sounds ominous.   Are we going to have Barry era GDP growth again?

Lancaster, Pa. is turning into nothing but shopping malls. They seem to be busy all the time, no matter how many new ones open up. One opened last winter, another on is opening up late September. These malls/outlets attract people from Maryland, NJ and NY all the time. No Walmart at any of these places. A lot of people that shop at these stores are not the "Walmart" shopper type. They are going fpr a better line of clothing than you will see at Walmart. Just like Catalogs in the mail, and books were predicted to be dead in the early 2000's, and they are still here,  people still like to go shopping at a store, not just look online. Some will go, a lot will stay. Just my opinion .

Unless the Trump tariffs achieve the desired results and China stops screwing the US on trade.
