Belichick vs Tomlin

71 posts in this topic

I believe there is merit to what he states, I believe Tomlin loses focus and control of the team at times. Look at how they have lost  to the patriots & other teams in key games, often clock or play calling situations. BB gets the most out of his players and certainly runs a tighter ship when it comes to extra curriculars from any player in season.

There maybe some here that disagree, thats fine

The most important difference between the 2 is one has had TB carrying the mail for 15+ years and the other hasn't..

An honest assessment, from a guy who quit the Steelers because the coach didn't play him.   LOL

or An honest assessment, from a guy who needed a change of scenery for the love of the game in the final years of his career...

You mean a guy who wanted to get off the bench, for the final 3 games of his career.

They are a "players coach" (Tomlin) and a "team coach" (Belichick).

Results in the biggest games can not be disputed.

I have seen many folks say BR was as good or better.

They are both top 3 guys in the league over the last + years

Good article from someone that would know.  Both teams have/had excellent talent.  There is only one reason why one team wins all the time.  Look no further than the coach.

All that matters is this year, look ahead not behind.

It is nice to see Tomlin occupies space in the pats heads year round.

See you Dec. 16

I think if you swapped teams for TB and Big Ben the outcome wouldn't change much. Tomlin is not a great coach. He proves it every year.

True ....but that is not whats being discussed.

What is being discussed is about the past performance of the team(s) and how coaching played a role in success of one team over another. Thats all
