Democrats, the Democrat Socialists atre gaining numbers, and some "former democrats" are labeling themselves Socialist Democrats.

Do you support this move to Leninist ideas, or denounce?  Or are yoy too embarrassed to discuss it?

Many here embrace the move hard left by their party, even if they won't say so in so many words.

Our p hat wearing Progs, and those that tacitly support the resistance are prime examples

This thread has promise

The Old School Dems will be gone as soon as the new Dems clean house.  No matter the outcome this fall the Dem Party will be nothing more than a Frankenstein

A better way to start a thread (if discussion is desired) would be

Last Tuesday WRT the NYC Mayoral race;

“Some more establishment, corporate Democrats get very scared by this term but if being a democratic socialist means that you believe health care, housing, education and the things we need to thrive should be a basic right, not a privilege, then count me in,” wrote Nixon. “As Martin Luther King [Jr.] put it, call it democracy or call it democratic socialism but we have to have a better distribution of wealth in this country.”

“I have long stood in support of a millionaires’ tax, Medicare for all, fully funding our public schools, housing for all and rejecting all corporation donations — all of which align with democratic socialist principles.” — @CynthiaNixon"

Can anyone support "better distribution of wealth"?  What  a crock!   These so called "democratic Socialist are taking over the party!

It’s great to see democrats embrace their communist ideations   They’ve been lying about what they are for around 50 years or so.  I applaud this coming out of sorts.

Democratic Socialists have been  running for about 100 years, not 50 years.  From The Nation

"...Democratic socialism has deep roots in American history. Socialists have been campaigning for major offices and winning major elections for more than a century in the United States. Voters have elected socialist senators, congressmen, legislators, and mayors. Alliances of socialists, populists, and progressives once shaped the politics of Midwestern states such as Wisconsin. And this is not just a historical footnote. As an unapologetic democratic socialist, Sanders won 23 primary and caucus contests in his 2016 Democratic presidential bid—securing over 60 percent of the vote in almost a dozen of them, carrying urban and rural regions and sweeping the youth vote. A proud democratic socialist, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, just won a primary victory over one of the top Democrats in the US House of Representatives — and members of Democratic Socialists of America have been on a winning streak in legislative and local races nationwide..."

The politicians that call themselves Democratic Socialist are not communists, nor do the espouse "communist ideations" .   There is a separate Communist party, but they have not been as successful.

I see all your democrat organized protests and the pre printed signs advertising revcom front and center.  I hear what your “corporate” democrats espouse.  I’ve read the revcom, DNC, and DSA platforms. I’ve seen you guys run Bernie Sanders in the primaries.

you should take the lead from your own party and start admitting what you are.  I may not agree , but at least your side is starting to have honest conversations for the first time in at least 50 years.

Embrace it. No need for you to be a bitter clinger to the d guard anymore.  This stuff is out in the open now.

Dick morris had a plausible explanation for the Socialist takeover of the Dems party. He said moderates are moving towards Trump as they see the all the good things that are happening leaving the hard line leftists behind to vote in the primaries.

The best way actually is to go to the DSA website and see their platform laid bare and scrubbed clean of the platitudes.

From their constitution:

We are socialists because we reject an economic order based on private profit,

We are socialists because we share a vision of a humane social order based on popular control of resources and production,

We are socialists because we reject an international economic order sustained by private profit, alienated labor, race and gender discrimination, environmental destruction, and brutality and violence in defense of the status quo.

(forgot to mention brutality and violence in  defense of socialism.  Notice that? Dont reject that do they?)

Liberty, equality, and solidarity will require not only democratic control over economic life, but also a progressively financed, decentralized, and quality public sector. Free markets or private charity cannot provide adequate public goods and services.

These people are ****ing Leninists.  Nothing more nothing less.
