Jimmy, Roddy, would it be safe to say that these reels will take ABU tune up parts ? Like the upgrade level winds, bearing, gears ect ?

I would have to agree with JZ,,they are great for that kinda money but,I would not ven try it.

I'd just fish it the way it is and since it does what it's supposed to do I'd just go fish it.

it is actually a very fast reel, the thumb has to be on point.

I have just one brake on and it can get away from me if I am not on point.

just a light tap of the thumb during the cast and it dries up any fluff.

I gave mine a drop of 3-in-1 oil on the spool bearings and the levelwind and she sings.

hit one last night on a large mag darter in the fast current, the drag is superb!

worked perfectly and no chatter!

not a beast of a fish but,a solid fighter.

Well I had a nice 15# bass this morning and the Chaos 60 did it's job. I'm impressed with the smoothness of this reel, both casting and under a load. I'll bet it would even do a 20 something bass too

I coupled it to my Fiblink 10' casting rod. A decent setup for 90.00 bucks. Have you seen those Fiblink Rods?

The surface finish is equally comparable between all three. I’ve used the Millionaire a fair amount, so it is time for a good cleaning and lube job. Because of that, it doesn’t feel as smooth as the Abu or the Chaos, but I’m certain that is because of its need for service.

If you are a traditional round level wind aficionado, I can see no faults with the Chaos. It is attractive to the eye (which is a bit of a weakness for me, nice lines and color and I’m often sold), it feels SOLID, and so far, has performed well.

Of course only time will tell, but in the other post you mentioned, the tear down photos reveal a high level of fit and finish internally. To me, that is a telling clue, so I feel confident with this reel.

I am sure it is as good as any of the ones you fish with mine too.

I saw a solid platform inside with clean design and I esp like the placement of a bearing around the pinion gear which got a drop of 3-in-1 oil as well.

for 50 clams a solid design with 7 Bb's that casts great fishes great with a nice drag is a great deal.

also you can put it in free spool and let line out then flip the thumbar with your thumb up to engage the gears without cranking the handle.

comes in handy whilst drifting some rubber or bucktails.

all in all I really dig the reel.

you are welcome M8.

did you know that Omoto makes akios?

they are fine reels as well.

I have a wavecaster[rebranded by stingray tackle who was a sponsor here at one time]they are great to fish with as most other reels.

heres a shot of mine.
