I have seen huge numbers of short fin squid this year in the bay, this video gives new meaning to the word "squid hounds"

Squid have been coming into the east end of the canal recently.

I saw a few mid-canal earlier this week.

I kept as bass today from the canal. It had crabs, Whiting, mackerel and squid in its stomach.

There is as variety of bait they're feeding on right now.

Did you get a pic of its stomach contents? There's a great stomach content thread in the main forum. Whenever I fillet a keeper I check its stomach and post a pic if there's something interesting in its belly.

I thought of that after I finished cutting and disposing of it. Damn would have been a good one.

Any idea the size??

I'd guess-timate them to have been a little longer than my hand.
