X2. Daiwa has no baitrunner in competition with the thunnus.  Would love to see one.

Any Daiwa baitrunner type reels being offered right now cannot even compete with Shimanos budget OC model baitrunner. Shimano is king with these reels.

Who does?

Why ism't penn producing a slammer with a live liner?

I asked Penn that question a long time ago, and they said no go with a Slammer/liveliner. I agree with you though. If penn designed such a reel, they would be Shimano killers.

I do have a few SSV liveliner reels they have been flawless. They have really held up nice in the surf. The 6500 is my favorite. Only problem is that Penn does not make a brass gear upgrade for the liveliner models. My have stayed very smooth despite 5 years of abuse in the salt. I highly recommend them.

Now getting back to the Emblem Pro. I see that Daiwa has released these reels in Europe. I really love my Ultegra ci4 5500, and I am almost ready to pull the trigger on the 14000 size CI4. If the new Emblem pro long cast is introduced within the next few months, I may just go that route to try something different.

I haven't managed to wear out my old Emblem Pro, a perfectly nice reel for plugging when I can't catch with fly tackle.

Don't think that Icast is ever the release point of any new reels from the Japanese Bigs from what I have seen, so any rumors of new Stella SWs and Gosas would of been finalized by now after the Osaka show unless I missed it. Gosa SW high wobble potential prevented me from buying another one so would like to see a redesign sooner then later. Interested in checking out the new Exist redesign because I love my previous model, so that is the highlight of the show for me personally.

Cpalms when you know enough of the younger generation and see what it has done to the sport, yes there are deeper issues and I feel I can speak from experience. Know and have met several successful youtubers, and only know a minut few that I would consider good fishermen personally. These kids feed of it and the nature of the sport has been taking a turn for the worst. The progession of fishing for likes instead of the love of the sport and the need for fishing fame has become almost comical to me. With that comes poor fishing ethics, fish out of the water for extended periods, spotburning for internet fame, a bunch of guys looking for sponsership at Icast, and an entire new generation fishing for glory. Is pretty sad to see the fishing industry having to follow suit for me. As much as I love to look at women, I still think a woman that can fish is much sexier than women using their body to get fishing fame rather than their skills too.

I dunno man - I don't think really much has changed - Jerry Mckinnis, Roland Martin, Jose Wejebe - the guys I grew up on, probably you did too, all kept fish out of water for too long , burned spots and whored for sponsors (Roland Martin defined that genre lol).  Those guys fished for ratings, the new generation fishes for likes - virtually the same thing in my book.  Hemingway fished for glory too.

That dude makes a Youtube vids for 15 year olds and if these kids that are growing up in a very f'd up generation get excited about fishing and not watching the garbage other 15 year olds watch, i'm ok with that. A spot gets burned? so what, you know plenty of spots and have caught plenty of fish.  He doesn't measure up to your standard of what makes a quality fisherman - who cares.

60% of the internet is porn (I just made up that statistic) so guys now have ability to get very specific about their taste in porn (or near porn). If you get worked up ogling some aging florida skank holding a half dead fish - google Darcizzle don't forget the tissues.  Sex sells.

I fish for a living because I love it btw and know a little more than you do on the subject so the only one randomly posting is you. Knew people before they got internet famous, before they turned their back on the locals that helped them get where there are at, and before they threw people under the bus and spotburned for internet success. Get a little internet fame and now the ego comes with it, despite the same lack of angling skills. Experienced guys can easily spot things others can't and know a phony when you meet one, so when you follow the industry and know how some people sell themselves out and kiss ass for sponsorship using followers it gets a bit tiring. Would rather be broke with great people in my life doing what I love and working hard to get by, than be internet famous by using everyone and everything I can to succeed.

Live and let live. Who cares if they’re internet famous? You seem just a touch jealous. You are obviously a better fisherman, so the truth should allow you to take a deep breath and relax. I doubt you are in their thoughts during any part of the day. They are not sweating the small stuff and are moving forward with their careers. If they are getting there by stepping on others, karma will step in one day.

In your original post, you talk about smacking 15 yr olds and how unattractive Darcizzle is. Maybe the bad karma is on your side? Cheer up, Captain!

I don't think he's jealous at all.  I think he's an expert who finds 15-y.o. experts who saw something on the internet (that's why they're expert) to be irritating.

Teenagers are mad for social exposure and desperate for the attention of their peers, and since time began they've overestimated what they know. That's part of being a kid.  When you are lectured on what you do for a living, and how you should be doing it, by a kid, you'll have a better perspective on his reaction.

Gotta love when an unattributed remark by some random kid is used to paint an entire generation. Humans - teenagers included - have been mad for social exposure and desperate for attention since the dawn of time (a fine example would be the current 71 year old President of the United States).  15 Year old males have been saying stupid things who people who know better since cavemen started throwing rocks at fish.  He does seem a bit jealous.

If the bang girls are still giving out energy drinks, then I will run around and take booty pics all day for you GED. Well atleast until I get kicked out.

Ashames me that some of the bigger companies have given out youtube and social media based sponserships. Where I'm from guy from BlacktipH is a googan, fished around him for years and he is about clueless, but a god to these kids online. Whole movement has changed the way the younger generation gets intel instead of earning/learning it. Want to smack these 15 years olds that think they know it all because of it. Had one not too long ago try to tell me how I should be doing something because he saw somebodies video. Little did he know I was the guy who tought his mentor how to catch fish that way. Gets worse every year unfortunately and the bandwagon line gets longer looking for sponsors.

Darcizzle hangs that ass out there to distract from her face lol. Not that attractive in person at all but she gets those views evidently.

That chick is thick as a brick ... unfortunately you can't get the time back spent listening to he speak. I would prefer that these "candy" girls just spent their time washing the boat in the background while wearing a Samurai Braid bikini. I would prefer to watch a "plain" girl with angling and communication skills hammer fish and give real insight to her technique.
