I would choose a Penn Prevail over the Stellar Lite myself, though. It is a lot of rod for $90. Yes, one of my first rods was a prevail. Its what I got started with and is a solid rod. That said I recently got a 9ft stellar as a backup light plugging rod, could not be more impressed. I've started reaching for it as often as other rods, St Croix, TFO, Lami Etc. A very solid rod for the price for the price. Throws sp's, mag darters , bucktail, swim shads, all with ease. I personally would go with my Star rod before I went back to my prevail. My recommendation, check them both out and figure out what feels best to you.
