Means the start of the local Striped bass season and from all the call I have been getting and reports from around the local areas, they have begun to take hold with a few low keepers in the mix.

It looks like a good year for undersized fish so far from many of the local reports, but the reports from down south that the numbers we low of the egg bearing as the waters were all silted up from the storms we had this winter. So those number do not bode well for the future , so let every one be extra cautious on handling the one we catch this year and give them a kiss . Also keep your eyes and ears open for the poachers in our mist and report them accordingly. Good luck to one and all this year, keep it safe and only bring home what you can use. King Neptune will thank you for that.

Bill the point being made is watching for the Lylacks and Mothers day is better then watching for Dandelions in bloom for some signs of striped bass in the local fishing areas. They are out there as well as pods of Blues fish making there way . The signs are there if only the water takes on a little warming spell, watch out
