That right there is the reason I keep coming back here. :th:

very good,,,I learned that tech from watching an old guy in Rhody once although he was using a tennis ball with an 8 foot leader and bucktail.

I watched as he "steered" the tennis ball left or right and he was catching fish although small they were slamming it waay out .

he was doing as I described and it was so amazing!

so,I tried it on the mudflats with a 6 inch saltwater assassin and BAYUM!,I was into fish nearly the whole tide,,that night I caught\released 67 bass although schoolies it was epic!

Nice Gosa baby! What size and pound test? I have 3 of them and LOVE them!

Same, I love my gosa's. I have two 10ks and an 8k. That one in particular is a 10k with 30lb pp superslick.

That reel casts a mile and has handled fish up to 42lb in the canal current.

I am the opposite, but I have to give the conventional reel a try. I will add that to my list of things to learn this year. Haha

Do you recommend I load the conventional reel with mono first or braid for a beginner?

Thanks for your tips.

btw Young, those LS-7's work well using that method as well,,,esp if the water is shallow enough like say,,,,12-18 feet.

at 100+ yds an LS-7 can get down deep enough to get struck like this one did.

That's the kind of fish i'm finding. Not very long but some of them are fat.

I'm finding fish that are in the middle sort of,with some on the slim side.

yours look to have been eating well.

They seem to only be going for minnow style lures around me. My custom wood is either too big or doesn't have good enough action to entice them. I had to go back to plastic to get the job done.
