Does anyone else share love for my favorite fish? I'm looking forward to getting into saltwater, but I can't help but go back to preparing for these chromers that I obsess over.

Make way to Erie every October.  The peace, beautiful surroundings, and the fight that steelies put up make it so worth it.  I will continue to go as long as my legs will let me.

One of my favorites on the fly rod. I fish the Erie tribs in western NY. Hoping to get up there this spring for the first time having only targeted them in the fall .  Here's one of a few from my last trip.

Pulaski in 2011(?). Last time I fished for them but took this one on a 6 wt in Feb.  Was going up every Feb for about 3 years. Feels like hooking a freight train. Need to get back up there.

I used to in Pulaski area on warm winter days, There are no warm winter days anymore for me. Been there done that.

It sounds crazy but on a warm winter day try nymphs and hair winged dries.

Look up a guy by the name of Fran Verdoliva at the Altmar Salmon river hatchery. He is the guy the got the fly only zones started on the Salmon river years ago. He was a excellent guide years ago, an expert on Steelhead and Land locks.....he is the only person that I knew that could actually take a nap standing in the middle of the river.
