Wiljack78
What knot do you recommend mid leader with 8 pound mono for a hi lo rig? I’ve used Palomar for drop shot and I’ve used dropper loops. The challenge is with a hi low rig when a fish takes the bottom (end) hook and the load must be carried by the tag side of the top knot. Knots loose a lot of strength when pulling hard on the tag end. Most knots are not designed to be strong In that direction.
TimS
Tie a dropped loop a little long, tighten it well and then cut one leg of the loop near the knot. A blood knot will also do the trick Show someone how to catch striped bass and they'll be ready to fish anywhere. Show someone where to go striped bass fishing and you'll have a desperate report chaser with loose lips.
doesitgobang
I just use a "mortician" rig. It removes all the line twist and allows lighter/different line out to the hook. It's great for line shy fish.
Wiljack78
Very interesting. Thank you for this suggestion, never heard of it before. I’m going to give it a try.
