· #1 Posted January 26, 2018 I've tried (often installed & then uninstalled) many fishing related cellphone Apps but kept the following: Fish Rules - It automatically downloads rule changes frequently and by default checks the rules in your gps location (State) Tides Near Me - seems accurate and saves regularly used locations Fishing Knots Lite Is anyone satisfied with any apps I haven't mentioned that you use for surf fishing? Fishbrain (which includes social networking) looks interesting, but I just read in freshwater forums that it's creating a lot of spotburning. 0 Go to top
· #2 Posted January 26, 2018 Fish brains nothing but spot burning. Pins your location of where the pic was taken n who ever pays the premium can see exact location. 0 Go to top
· #3 Posted January 26, 2018 I like Majic Seaweed for surf conditions & Windfinder for wind & weather. JD 0 Go to top
· #4 Posted January 26, 2018 I like to use Scoutlook. Gives a google version of the map, you can save locations then build logs inside your location for both fishing and hunting. There are groups you can share with or keep it personal. Has tide details, brief weather forecast, sun up sun down, and moon phase. Will also give major and minor times. Neat app, I use it a lot. 0 Go to top
· #5 Posted January 26, 2018 Navioncs Boat HD app. Its just the having the Navionics chip from your fishfinder. I use it all the time when fishing from shore to find drop offs, structure, etc. Also has tides, wind, etc. 0 Go to top
· #6 Posted January 26, 2018 honestly i do everything i can to disassociate digital tech from my surf fishing boating i can see, but give me a beach or open section of surf where i am free to read structure, waves etc and im happy. no need for pinning a location as that bar or cut prolly wont be there in 12 hours let alone 3 days. 0 Go to top

Not free but worth it. 0 Go to top

The long defunct Tides and Currents from FlytoMap has current speed as well (free). And it is very comprehensive listing every NOAA stations and doesn't require and internet connection. I'm sure the Navionic one is better since you can see location right on the map. I use Sailflow for wind. 0 Go to top
· #10 Posted January 27, 2018 Windfinder. Great app for wind and surf conditions but the tides are off usually near me for some reason. I just keep a safari tab open w/ that though. Really though, windfinder is awesome. We used it all the time at the parasailing company I work for in the summer and it doubles as a great fishing app. 0 Go to top
· #11 Posted January 27, 2018 just found the fishing points app. It allows you to input catches and automatically records tide, weather and location for those looking to start a log. 0 Go to top
· #12 Posted January 27, 2018 Grog Knots. great animated videos of knot tying demonstrations, along with brief description of uses for knots. 0 Go to top
· #13 Posted January 28, 2018 Ocean Watch for tides. Doesn’t have a ton of ocean side locations (more bay and river points) but if you can find one that’s close enough to where u fish it’s a very useful app because it displays the tide in like a line graph type of form and you can drag a point anywhere on the graph and it will tell u what time it will be when it’s at that stage in the tide. Very useful for me when it comes to planning my fishing windows. 0 Go to top
