Is the Statue of Liberty just a symbol or is it a law?

I just listened to a liberal guest on Martha McCallum's show on Fox describe how we should treat immigrants and cited a scribbling on the Statue of Liberty as if it's a law...so what gives with that?

Novel sentiment from a time when America needed people.

The simple truth.  Times change, and it's OK that they do.

It was pure sentiment.  Even then we're weren't opening to doors to be nice, we were opening them to spur growth.

From some French guy.

Is there an EBT card dispenser at the base?

Written by a Zionist.  Today’s libs might like the sentiment, but in real life they would support a Palestinian terrorist over the author.

Its a poem that was written during a fund raising drive for funds to build the pedestal on which the statue stands.

The statue came from France with no inscriptions.  The statue opened in 1886 with no poem on the pedestal.

The poem was not associated with the statue until 1903 when it was put on a plaque and mounted on the pedestal.

But the Dems dont teach stuff well in their schools.

The Statue of Liberty is France's way of saying American is the only best place on earth and the rest of the World is a ****hole.

The poem has nothing to do with the Statue.

"Should?"

Says who?  Him?  Why in the hell "should" we care what he has to say?

Propaganda from the industrial globalist, who wanted to get rid of the people Europe could no longer support, and give the USA the cheap labor it needed at the time.

Emma Lazarus' statement was fine as far as it went but remember, back then, they only took healthy, intelligent people.  If you had a disease, if you were considered "slow". if you were missing one of your limbs, etc.. you were on the next boat back to whatever Euro poop hole you came from.  They only took healthy, strong people.  My father remembers having white powder thrown on him probably to kill lice. etc. which they did to all immigrants.  That was all he remembered of the process as he was 12 years old (1910?) but he was terrified at the time.  He was with his father, his mother and sister had the same thing happen but in another room.

There was a movie called "The Golden Door" which covers much of the process of coming into the country.  Try and get it.  Very illuminating.

BTW, this is Knight 771.  New computer in a new location and forgot my old info so, new ID.
