Trump and the Coal industry.....

If I were a coal miner, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting to get my job back.  There are currently 51,000 coal mining jobs in the United States according to government statistics.  Since Trump took office a 1,000 jobs have been created in the coal mining industry.  Within the last two weeks it was announced that a coal mine in western PA will close costing about 400 jobs which puts a dent in that statistic.  The image of the coal miner going down into the mines to shovel 16 tons isn't coming back.  Technology and automation have replaced the pick and shovel.  If you're going to be a coal miner today you'll need to know how to use a key pad and run automatic equipment.  There are currently about 260,000 jobs in the solar power industry.  The coal industry won't go away soon, if at all, but it's losing ground.  The Donald might think he can walk on water, but there's not going to be a miracle of the loaves and fishes for the coal miner.
