This is a long shot but what the hey.

so due to some health issues, I'm not really supposed to be shoveling snow I'm looking for something i can use for light snow removal

i have a few weed whacker setups around that I've repaired and thought id try this out power broom attachment.

yeah well it sucks for moving snow. The bristles are too few and too far apart.

anyone have any ideas on how to attach some kind of broom head that has more bristles?

thanks,

Jim

You can try a strong leaf blower, preferably going out and blowing it when only an inch or two has come down.

Then repeat as necessary. I know some folks do it this way.

That's one of the ways I've been doing it. Just did it a few minutes ago.

thanks

a neighbor had one of those a while back. I really didn't cut it either but it did work better than the broom attached to the whacker.

ill keep banging ideas around

just wish i could find a better brush to mount to the whacker :)

thanks everyone

That looks interesting. I had the toro power shovel and it worked, probaby should have kept that thing but it was electric.

My take on it the power shovel

pros: threw the snow fairly far, inexpensive(about $100 at the time) fairly light

cons: electric (pain when you have a 125' driveway) narrow(cleared about a 10" path

if the weed whacker attachment was working i was hoping to mount it on some sort of wheels like maybe an old beach cart

if i were building it from scratch:

1) gas or maybe Li-ion battery

2) very light weight or maybe mounted on a small rider

3) wide path capability, at least 2'

4) ability to scrape down to the Tarmac
