Interesting that there's not a peep about it on CNN or MSNBC.......

Former Rep. Corrine Brown (D-Fla.) was sentenced on Monday to five years in prison for her connection to a fraudulent charity that raised hundreds of thousands of dollars, according to multiple reports from Jacksonville, Fla., news outlets.

Brown was convicted in May on 18 counts of financial crimes including conspiracy, mail fraud, wire fraud, tax crimes and hiding income she should have publicly reported.

Prosecutors argued Brown, who served in Congress for 24 years before losing her reelection bid in 2016, received $141,000 in cash through the charity One Door for Education and her campaign committee, The Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville reported.

Brown, who was also sentenced to three years of supervised release, will report to prison no earlier than Jan. 8.

Brown’s longtime chief of staff was sentenced to four years in prison, and the charity’s founder was sentenced to 21 months in prison.

Brown was indicted in 2016 and had been facing a Department of Justice investigation. The House Ethics Committee had voted to formally investigate Brown prior to her indictment.

Good so you DO agree Killary and The Clinton Foundation should send back ALL of the moneys collected.

Her campaign signs read ....Corrine Delivers. I always wondered what that meant to Democrats.

Many years ago a judge drew her district in such a fashion as to ensure a black Democrat would win the seat, and she ran unopposed for most of her stellar career. Imagine a lightening bolt, shooting over here and over there to capture just the black communities. Long and thin, her district ran from Jacksonville to Orlando. Because her seat was considered safe, she was a darling in the Democrat Party.

This is is not her first brush with the law. She had multiple scandals, but because she could hold the seat, she just skated past. Then everything changed. Her district was redrawn to conform with normal district shapes, and she lost easily. That was what opened the door for this investigation to proceed.

I love to watch Democrats going to prison.

5 years is better than nothing, but BS like this should be life in prison.

The penalty inflicted on this woman should be so severe that every other politician out there contemplates giving up their position out of fear that this could somehow happen to them.

The people that ask for power, lobby for power and then get entrusted with that power should live in fear of abusing that power.  They don't.  They're playing a game of "catch me if you can," and laughing at us when we try.
