stripedbass_17
I never freshwater fish, but since the saltwater season is essentially over, I need to catch fish. Can you get yellow perch on worms. Probably a dumb question, seems everything eats them. Thanks
TJones
Yes... they will eat worms no problem! You can catch them on small lures also. Fun fish and very pretty. Good luck!

CDubbs
Sure, but probably better to use live minnows off a bobber.
stripedbass_17
Ya ok I think I will just go down with one rod with worms and cast with the other
Philly
You can also catch perch on small minnows. I've also caught them on flies, small Rapala and Yozuri lures and small jigs with a twister tail.
stripedbass_17
Yup I have gotten them on lures too, just wanted to try something new
Beastly Backlash
Try the red worms if you do use worms. Â Make sure to thread the worm onto the hook so it presents naturally while in the water.
Beastly Backlash
At the same time, I would rather use a 2in to 3in twister tail on a 1/8oz jig head or minnow lures in the 3in to 4in range. Â Basically a downsized presentation for what I use when targeting walleye. Edited November 11, 2017 by Pylodictis
vce12342000
Use worms to catch the yellow perch. Then use the yellow perch to catch monster pickerel .... I live to fish. Not fish to live. I fish because things in my head tell me to.
Plug Em All
Use Night crawlers for bait, also if you want bring another rod and toss Crappie magnets, small rooster tails and small crank baits work awesome on perch to. My PB Giant Yellow Perch was caught on a small crank bait. Edited November 12, 2017 by Plug Em All
