Catfish from Kayak

With the surf conditions looking dismal this past weekend the thought of driving 2 hrs to possibly launch was out. I decided to stay local and target flatheads by yak. Went and caught some gills and chubbs during the afternoon and launched around 5pm. Made our way a couple miles down river to some deep water marking tons of fish the whole way. Ended up catching half a dozen flatheads, biggest was mid 20lbs. They were getting bigger and the frequency of bites picking up when it started to drizzle. I pulled up my radar and saw some heavy rain and storms were fast approaching. Peddled back 2 miles to the launch as fast as possible. Got dumped on as we were loading up the yaks. Forgot how fun flatheads from the kayak was. Going to target them over the winter when cabin fever sets in.
