Surf Rod ($130-$230 range) to Pair with Shimano Saragosa 8000

I recently bought a Shimano Saragosa 8000 and am looking for a surf rod in the $130-$230 to pair it with. I would prefer it to be on the lighter side (so I can cast for hours) but still strong enough to handle canal slobs.

What do people recommend?

TFO GIS all day. It's slightly out of your price range, but with every penny. They come up in the bst here occasionally. I think one just sold recently and I picked mine up from the bst a couple months ago. I have the 10'6" 2-6 oz (tfo website says 2-8 but it's wrong, the rod is marked 2-6) paired with a gosa 6000 and its a dream.

Another vote for the 10’6” TFO. As mentioned it’s a bit above price you wanted, but they come up for sale here. (as seen in previous post).

PS- Say hi to Charlie Babbit for me.

I have my 'Gosa 8000 on the 10' 6" TFO. I was at the canal in early September when I caught about 3 dozen stripers between 36" - 43". I was jigging sluggos on 4oz jig heads all night. During the morning blitz I was throwing 3 1/2 oz Savage sand eels.

My arms, back and shoulders were fried after 8 hours of non-stop action but the rod & reel performed flawlessly.

I'm also trying to find a rod to match a Saragosa 8000. Tossed up between this TFO, Star Stellar 10'6"/11' surf rod, or a St. Croix Mojo. Does anyone know if the TFO 10'6" 2-6 oz will successfully cast 3/4-1oz lures? I mostly fish 2-3oz sinkers with live shrimp or pinfish but would like to throw lures occasionally.. I'd like to find a matching rod that is not to stiff but still able to pull in a red drum, snook, and pompano. Any help is appreciated.

You would be better served starting your own thread with your specific needs...folks aren’t likely to read an old thread to the end to see that you asked a question...at the end...of an old thread :)
