Gell, for me it’s more for location info here in Florida. We have a lot of small islands and each one has its own name. It’s great to know these names and relationships to a report I’ve read about. 

 

Each bullet point is a bit of info some may not know like myself of an area.

Ah. I use the OpenCPN desktop chart app, it loads NOAA charts and you can see EVERYTHING: tides, currents, buoys, depths, island names, wrecks, landmarks, whatever. And you can plot courses and distances. Below is a screencapture. In it I clicked on the little orange arrow below Norton Pt and it opened this current window showing the currents today at that location. Does the same with tides for the yellow vertical stick.
