Bar Harbor this weekend... tips/advice

Rate this topic

5 posts in this topic

I am heading to Bar Harbor with my family for 2 days this weekend.  We'll be doing the sight seeing/visiting thing, but will also have a decent chunk (4-5 hours ) one day to spend fishing.

Whats going on up there this time of year?  Suggestions appreciated.

Also, suggestions on a good pace for breakfast?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Can't comment on breakfast, but best fishing bet would be mackerel/harbor pollock.  Want to catch a bunch?  Use a small tin like a Krocodile, Deadly Dick, etc. on a Sabiki rig.  Want to use a light rod and catch 'em one at a time, lose the Sabiki rig...  Bass probably gone, they've seem to have "left the building" in my area further south.

Assuming they are still in season, fish a pond for trout.  ...and hike the precipice, over to the beehive and down to sand beach
