I know it has been discussed many times, but here I go. I am building a Century Nor'easter 10', planing to use a Penn 704 w 30lb Fireline. Using the 27X method it put the chocked a 16 @ 67.5, working back a 20 @ 55" & a 30 @ 30" all measurements from extended reel stem, all K guides. Forward from the chocked 3 - 12s to a 12 tip. I have not done a deflection test nor text cast, hopping to do that this weekend. Any input would be helpful, Thank you.

You will need a 25 between the 30 and the 20; 25" between the 30 and 20 is too much for a number of reasons

Try this:

30 @ 30"

25 @ 44"

20 @ 56.5"

Consider dropping the 16 entirely and use a 12 as the choke (in the same place)

If it were my choice I would use 10's as running guides, lower, lighter, better tip recovery
