one of the parts about shrimping where i go is the nearest light is miles away and all you hear is the water and when you look up the stars look like they're rite in your face

Thanks Weewee, I really enjoyed that.

 

I just got home from Jersey City where I took my oldest to get the final step of his paperwork squared away for this training at the seafarers training academy in piney pt Md, where on 10/30, he will embark on a career in the merchant marines.

 

Watching this video helped settle my nerves. :th:

i passed up a chance to work on a cargo ship that sailed from NY around south america and up to washington state, then turned around and went back, 

i didn't do it because of my ex wife who went off the rails less than a month after i turned down the offer :dismay:

the ship that offered me the job stopped overnight in a few port of calls along the way, i actually took like ten of these idiots to a strip joint and a biker bar in town that i frequented! 

it was a very interesting night lol
