Just thought id share this pic from my recent deleware fishing trip. While trying to retrieve my hook from a shads mouth, the fish thrashed and the treble drove into my hand. As it pierced my skin, the fish thrashed back and forth forcing the hook deeper into my hand, as a catch and release guy, im sorry to report that i had to squash the fish to prevent further damage to myself. Lots of pain pushing this hook through the other side my hand. Never again will i try to get a hook out of a fishes mouth without my trusty rusty pliers.

What method did you use for getting it out? Pushing through and getting rid of the barb? Or just good old yankin the sucker out?

That's a good ad for a boga grip. All it takes is one experience and you don't mess with trebles and lively fish.  Been there and done that never again.

From the title and the pic I am sure it looks like he doesn't fish much. I still think when it comes to hook removal using a heavy piece of mono and pinching the eye down and a quick yank is the way to go.

I did that with an SP minnow a few weeks back... 5lb bluefish thrashing on rear hook.   Shook front treble went in my hand. Kept shaking head hook went in deep barb in..... had a buddy close got the fish unhooked and then dealt with the hand.... was able to back it out somehow miraculously   Hurt like hell
