codfish
The guy fishing near me hooks into a fish of a live time, when I say 'what happened?' he said this is what happened, one mad fisherman, why do people use light wire hooks in the Canal?? scott7980
It only takes 15-20 twists of the hook back and forth to have it turn to butter. I have done it with pliers rather easy, but never on a fish.
East Tide
Probably fishing a 1209 with the drag cranked down too? Gotta let the equipment do what it's supposed to do. TroutGhost

rst3
The large size savage head isn't too bad. I've put a lot of pressure on those. But the smaller 2-3oz or whatever is in the picture is much thinner. Can easily wiggle/bend hook with hand Fishing kills me exactly as it keeps me alive. ged
Joe Baggs. All sizes have good hooks. Why even bother with that design?

Hmm, I've caught a lot of nice stripers on the 3 1/2 oz and 5 1/3 oz Savages and never had a hook straightened out. I make my own heads for the Savage tails. Need to cut off the angled portion of the rubber head but then they fit great. 8/0 Mustad jig hooks. Much better than either Savage stock. I'll have mine on the rocks.
bob_G
DJ was standing 15' from me when this happened. That's a 7/0 forged hook. BTW, had a fish break brand new 50lb braid tonight. The Sultan of Sluggo
