MorningWood
So driving home from Jersey City on Wednesday I got a call from a friend saying the satellite pictures were showing 72-75 degree breaks throughout the canyon and he asked me if I would want to go Wed-Thurs. Frankly I would have called in sick if he asked me to go fluking but I'll never pass up a trip to the canyon as long as the weather is good. We left the dock at 12:30am got out to the elbow around 4:30 and found nothing but 69 degree water everywhere we went and we covered the entire canyon twice. Thankfully we got lucky on the West wall around 10:00am with a BLT (around 25lbs) and then a nice chunky 80lber in the same area. That was pretty much it. We got the skunk off a little earlier with a 12 lb Mahi picked off a lobster pot. We picked up 5 more Mahi off pots before calling it a day around 2:30pm. Fishhead7
Nice report! I didn't realize the mahi hang around the lobster pots, but I guess it's structure!
