That they're going to trap themselves in that bubble by the time the 2018 mid terms roll around...Chuck Schumer took time out from his 'Russia Russia Russia' rants to momentarily recognize that...I'm sure that thought already escaped that little bit of space between his ears...I say keep up the good work on the 'Russia Russia Russia' baloney at this point....LOL

I think you're missing his point.  Democrats who think that the Russia investigation is going to restore the party's prosperity are woefully ill-judged in doing so. Trump's tweets and the investigation may be a transfusion, but the party is on electoral life support and needs a program.  Complaining that Trump is disconnected from reality in his tweets is not going to do it.

But it does not hurt in unifying the base,  Similar to the Tea Party movement.

I agree that it is not a slogan to win by, but as the Tea Party did, they unified the base and that is the opposite of what is occurring with the GOP.  A unified base means high turnout during election time.

Even loony Tom Perez realizes that "Russia" is not a strategy to base the future upon. Middle America doesn't give two shots about Russia. They are concerned about jobs and wages.

Who is the leader of the Democratic Party and what do they stand for?

The TP was unified by a belief in something, or multiple somethings. The Constitution. Smaller federal government. More power back to the States. Lower taxes. Gun owners' rights. Controlled immigration. The TP had a national face but it was at the local levels that it made the greatest inroads. And, while doing so, gave the finger to the GOP Establishment. The TP was not GOP base, it was a vanguard of coming change.

What about the current #NeverTrump mood of the Dems/Left even comes close to being "similar"? Please articulate the base-unifying message of the Dems? Bernie's version of socialism? Remember, the DNC did its best to kill off Bernie. So what exactly are the Dems using to rally the base other than Trump hatred? And how do they convert that to something that will expand their collapsing tent and bring in Independents?

Please enlighten us FK007.

Many people will go out to vote as a NO Trump Vote in 2018.

Many more will go out and vote on the right to stifle the left's snivelling further.

Have fun unifying futility

This will be a deciding time for America.

Most Conservative (like Trump or Not) realize this is a hit job led by a Clinton Hack.  They see how compromise many of our highest Officials have become.

Most Liberals have let their emotions drive their decisions allowing the Filth in Washington to continue the Destruction of America.  Many don’t realize the danger they will be in once they allow the complete breakdown of the system.

Both of the two major parties have a big problem with division within their party. But I have to wonder if the problem the Dems have is the more serious of the two - there is a BIG struggle between the far left Sanders supporters and neoliberals that supported Clinton. Either side has enough numbers to sink an election if they don't have enough cooperation with each other.

The division between Trumps base and the Never Trump establishment is a little different. The Never Trump crowd has as big of a presence as they do due to their positions in government, and holding the microphone with some msm positions. ( I'm talking about prominent Senators like McCain and Graham, and media pundits like Wm. Kristol, Geo. Will. They make a lot of noise, but their actual numbers are tiny compared to the rest of the GOP.

At the moment, I don't think that the Democratic Party has a leader, in any useful sense of the word.
