1 million less people on food stamps since our new President was elected.

Jeez, either people are working and dont need them or illegal aliens are not renewing for fear of being deported.

Leftists would be working day and night to get more people on. Its what they do.

The Trump administration's plans to scale back support for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - commonly referred to as food stamps - will cost retailers some $71 billion over the next decade, according to a recent analysis.

No retailer faces deeper cuts than Walmart.

Retail consultants AlixPartners provided estimates to CNBC as to which retailers will take the biggest hit if SNAP revenue is cut. The current Trump administration budget calls for a $191 billion cut to SNAP between 2018 to 2028, reducing the average recipient's monthly benefit from $252 to $173 per month.

Lower benefits translates into less money to spend on food.

===========================================================

It's so appalling - Anti American- when people think that our problems will be solved by stop giving poor $200 to buy food!

But they applaud spending Billions for a useless wall, giving tax breaks to the billionaires, allowing the drug companies to rape Medicare Part D, .......

Get your heads out of the sand.

Why do you assume that if people are for a food stamp cut back, they are in favor of the other items you posted. They have nothing to do with each other. I am against all the other items you posted, but tired of seeing people at a store using the old handout card, and they are full of tats, nails all done up nice to the point I am betting they did not do their own work to them, expensive sneakers, and the most current cell phones.

We need to make sure that the needy are the ones who are eligible for food stamps and reduce abuse.  But I have a problem when people are not thinking things out:

If you take away the ability of the real needy to put food on the table, then what do you think they will do next?  Many of them are unable to find work because they have babies and can not afford child care.  Many are addicts...... They (and their starved kids) will go out and commit crimes instead.  That will result in higher federal $ being spent in prosecuting them.  That will result in higher local taxes for all.  High crime also results in reduced home values for those areas.

So if you sum up the end result, one will conclude that even though it sounds good to his racist base, the end result is negative for the country.

Everything this administration does so far is to appease and "throw red meat" to the base, but the country suffers as a result.

Thank you President Trump for continuing with the Obama policy. 5 million people have been moved off food stamps since 2013. 2 million last year alone and the Obama trend is continuing into the Trump admin. :th:

Stop having babies on the state.

Stop doing drugs.

Get a job/better job.

Excellent opportunity to break the cycle of government dependence.

See that's your problem, you see government as a solution to their problems and I see government as the problem.

Should we consider that since people are off of food stamps that their votes aren't still paid for?

This isn't rocket science. The SNAP numbers follow the economic numbers. They peaked after the recession and are now improving as the economy improves. It's a good thing that more people are working...more taxpayers.
