ccb
Sounds like the best way is to get a cork tape rod and tape the reel on where ever you like it best. If you change your mine? retape it.

Got it to where I wanted it and then wrapped and rod finished it. Instead of cork tape I went with the xflock shrink and made a deck hand style. ccb
I have some Fuji Plates. but I don't like them. They are just to bulky for my taste. I just like Electrical tape. Been using it for years. Lighter and you get a much better feel. They will twist sometimes , so then you can retape it or spin it back. I never had a reel come off using the tape in 60 years. I build rods , so if I wanted a reel seat I could put one on. Just don't like the feel. Once you fish without a reel seat , you don't want them anymore. You can feel every move the fish makes. Try it, you will see. Only use them on my boat rods.with conventional reels.
cheech
Tape or plate lets you customize your setup instantly. Tis better to remain silent and thought the fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.
hoakge12000
The butt length of your rod should be at least about 2/3 of your arm length (from elbow to tip of finger). The longer the better so you can have easier one arm hook sets when the fish bites.
