Snake ID

I came across this guy on one of the trails in Cape Henlopen State Park. I was dragging my kayak back to the parking lot. He seemed pretty pissed off when I went by him. Anyone know what type of snake it is?

Flat head and marking look like an Eastern Hog Nosed Snake to me.   After googling some pics, that is.  I don't know that stuff on the top of my head.

But snake ID's are about as easy as shark ID's and you'll probably get a bunch of different answers.

Hognose.

Will flatten it's head, imitate a poisonous snake aggressive strike pose and even flicker it's tail (sounds like a rattler in dry leaves). Most times when they fake a strike they don't even attempt to bite. Mouth stays shut. Pull their bluff and they emit a smell & play dead. Totally limp
