It appeared on it's own and every time I start trying to figure out how to get rid of it, it disappears...And then soon after, it reappears.

(And on at least one occasion, it welcomed me, and called me "Otter".) :squid:

It happens to me about 25%
of the time, very annoying as
it causes the threads/posts to
become very narrow ..Like this.
And it also welcomes me as "Otter"

For me, it only shows up on the Forum Listing and Thread Listing pages, not in the threads themselves. And even if you could get rid of it, that column also has an ad in it, so the column would be there anyway.

there's a tiny little arrow on the left side of the window about half way down the page.

click on it.
it let's you rearrange stuff.
You should get an X on the top right part of the active topic thing.  Click on the X.  it closes it.
then at the bottom on the left side, click on Finish Editing.

you might have to do that in every forum.
