My first attempt at a plug

Hello all,

I've been turning on the lathe for about 3 weeks now.  Tonight i decided to change pace and turn a plug.  I chose a danny style. I don't think it came out to bad for my first try.  It's out of a pine 2x2. Please give all the feedback you can. I've always been a fly tyer. Now I'm into plugs.

I like the design, you could even swap ends and make a bowling pin pencil out of it.

I am guessing you are going to make the thick end the head.

you keep it up,keep on making your own designs,I like what ya got here.

Decisions, decisions.......Where to put the lip slot, how many hooks, and where, lead weight, or no? Eyes? Welcome to the madness, the Danny blank looks pretty good......

Thanks guys.  Yes the thick end is the head. I though the pics was the other way. The hardware will be here next week.:banghd:. Ues definitely alot to take in when new.

give it some thought about swapping ends, you could do a killer pencil with the same design.

I can definitely do that! Let me work on it

Jeremy

oh I know you can and prolly very well too.

we both have to admit it looks similar to your design,I wouldn't modify your design one bit, just reverse it for a pencil and the other way for a cool swimming plug.

okay then,stay on it!
